NO
PACKING!! No packing means:
- No
high heat build up and wear from the large surface
area of packing riding against the bar.
- No
grinding the powder into the bar causing erosion and
thus creating a larger pocket requiring tightening of the
packing.
- No maintenance
required for routine adjustments to maintain correct packing
tightness.
- No maintenance
for routine removal and replacement of packing.
- No
packing to trap product from one batch and release
it into a subsequent batch causing cross contamination.
- No
following gland with its threaded rods, double nuts and gap
to trap powders that remain unblended and create a cleaning
problem.
- No
degraded packing to shred and reenter the product as contamination.
- No
degraded product having been subjected to the heat
and wear in the packing area becoming discolored and then
migrating back into the batch as contamination.
Low
Maintenance Design
- Lip
seals last a significant number of batches and many
hours of operation.
- Lip
seals are easily cleaned to prevent cross contamination
when re-used with different products.
- Modified
lock collar that the oil seals ride on rather than abrading
on the shaft. As the seals wear into the lock collar, it can
be replaced easily with out major shaft damage.
- Both
the lip seals and the face they ride against are replaceable
parts.
- Bolt-in
exchangeability
with existing packing gland designs.

Clean,
Simple, Effective Design
- Clean,
aesthetically pleasing outside with minimal powder hang up
points.
- Minimal
seal contact area for negligible friction and heat build-up.
- Set screws
are covered with cap screws to prevent pockets where powder
can gather and cake.
Redundant
Design:
- Primary
lip seal with inner concentric back-up, each fully capable
of stopping the powder, each individually energized to ensure
full and continuous contact
- A Teflon
wear strip ensures proper lip seal alignment
- A "third"
lip seal is designed to keep cleaning water from entering
the bearing area.
- In units
equipped with an air purge, a special set of modifications
to the design not only accommodates its continued use but
further utilizes the pressure provided to energize the third
cleaning seal in a closed position.
- Back
up oil seal to prevent any powder or cleaning solution from
getting into the bearing area.
- Separate
reverse facing oil seal to prevent any bearing lubrication
from escaping into the blender to contaminate the product
- With
the bearing lubrication contained, it is now safe to pack
the bearing with grease which both lubricates the bearing
but also acts as the final and absolute stop for any migrating
powders.
- Multiple
static O-ring seals against the shaft to prevent powder from
migrating along the shaft or housing into the bearing area
and to prevent bearing lubricant from migrating along the
shaft or housing into the product.
